In the latest issue of Sistemi & Impresa, the magazine by Edizioni Este dedicated to technological innovation with a focus on the manufacturing sector, Quin contributed to the article “Made in Italy, thinking beyond the product. The (necessary) path to innovation” by Petra Seppi, Head of Innovation Management at NOI Techpark.
The piece offers an in-depth look at the Italian innovation landscape, highlighting the need to strengthen and consolidate the national ecosystem, enhance human capital, and adopt a broader, forward-looking vision to relaunch product innovation as a distinctive lever.
On this topic, Luca Comello, Head of Project Management at Quin, emphasized that product innovation serves as a strategic lever to address the challenges of the industrial system—provided that development processes are both structured and flexible.
“The success of a new product is no longer the outcome of an isolated intuition, but of a journey that balances method with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances,” says Comello, highlighting the effectiveness of a hybrid approach that combines the Stage-Gate method—structured in sequential phases with decision points—with Agile principles, based on rapid iterations, continuous feedback, and flexibility. Supporting this approach requires the adoption of integrated digital tools, such as Advanced Project Management platforms, which enhance cross-functional coordination, reduce inefficiencies, and facilitate the management of complex scenarios.
Effective innovation requires synergy: combining technologies, iterative approaches, and proven tools makes it possible to navigate uncertainty, accelerate time-to-market, and create sustainable, competitive solutions.
