Strategy, data, and artificial intelligence: QUIN’s event on the new frontier of industrial planning draws great interest
San Vito al Tagliamento (PN), May 27, 2025 – More than 50 companies, with nearly 100 participants in total, joined the event “Driving change: strategic planning in the age of artificial intelligence”, organized by QUIN, a strategic and operational consulting firm, at LEF – the model digital factory in San Vito al Tagliamento (PN).
An intense afternoon of dialogue focused on one of today’s most pressing challenges for the industrial world: how companies can face uncertainty, manage growing complexity, and transform planning into a strategic, integrated, and responsive decision-making process.
The event opened with welcome remarks from Marco Olivotto, General Manager of LEF, followed by an introductory session led by Luca Comello (Head of Project & Innovation Management, QUIN) and Federico Cussigh (Head of Digital Transformation, Pietro Rosa TBM and Senior Partner, R-Tree Technologies). Together, they explored the evolution of industrial complexity and the promising yet ambivalent role of artificial intelligence.
At the heart of the discussion was the idea that technology alone is not enough. Real value comes from well-designed processes, strong data governance, an organizational culture open to learning, and intelligent models embedded in the company’s decision-making system.
The technical session, led by QUIN’s experts, took a deep dive into multi-scenario planning models, machine learning, demand sensing, and clustering. The team presented practical applications capable of enhancing forecasting accuracy, optimizing inventory management, and supporting timely decisions. A concrete example is the system developed by QUIN and implemented within LEF: a platform designed to test advanced solutions in an environment that mirrors real production dynamics.
A highlight of the event was the roundtable discussion with industrial entrepreneurs and managers, moderated by Luca Comello, which shared valuable transformation experiences:
- Massimo Biagi, CTO of Keyline, spoke about their digitalization journey and the introduction of a new ERP system as a catalyst for deep cultural and organizational change.
- Alessandro Bortuzzo, ICT Manager at AMB, emphasized data governance and security as critical factors in a rapidly evolving business environment.
- Matteo Emanuele, Director of Technical Area, Supply Chain, and Food Quality at Bofrost Italia, described the use of AI in demand planning to anticipate demand fluctuations.
- Alberto Foda, Operation Manager at Valcucine, shared the challenges of a Design to Order production model and the path toward a more synchronized and collaborative supply chain.
- Piercarlo Gramaglia, CEO of VDA – Telkonet Group, offered insights on the cultural shift needed to enable more advanced decision-making processes.
The event is part of QUIN’s broader mission. With offices in Udine, Milan, Cesena, and Florence, QUIN supports industrial companies in their digital and sustainable transformation, working across Operations, Supply Chain, and Business Performance Management. By combining strategic vision, technological solutions, and deep knowledge of core processes, QUIN helps businesses build new competitive advantages.
The initiative was promoted with the support of Ditedi (Industrial District of Digital Technologies FVG) and Cluster Comet (the metalworking cluster of Friuli Venezia Giulia).
